MONTGOMERY CHAPTER CONTINENTAL RECEIVES HONOR
Congratulations! Continental Roberta Collins, along with seven other ladies received the “WOMEN OF DISTINCTION” honor from the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama, Inc. The award was given at the “15th Annual Women of Distinction” dinner, an event sponsored by Girls Scouts to recognize outstanding women and their contributions to community service. This delightful evening was marked by a wonderful dinner, the awards hour, and an auction. Over $11,000 was raised to be used in programs and services for Girl Scouts in our 30-county area. Continental members attending and contributing to this effort were Continental Veronica Lewis, President, and her mother, Mrs. Jettie Boone; and Continentals Beverly Ross, Barbara Forrester, Connie Dacus, and Estel Tolliver. The event was held on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at a local church. Let us give accolades and a big “shout out” to our sister Ms. Roberta Collins who just recently retired after teaching 30 plus years in the Montgomery Public Schools. |
